An introduction to whiskey 2025

We were delighted to host an introduction to whiskey on 6 February in Browne's Bar, Gorey, with around 30 of us gathering to chat and discuss all things whiskey. This event was designed for those who are earlier on their tasting journey with many whiskey basics covered during the evening.


John Lynch led the conversation and brought the group through tastings including Jameson, Jim Beam Extra Aged, Talisker Skye, Glendalough Double Barrel, Arran Quarter Cask and Fercullen 15 expressions.



We chatted through the history of whiskey, how whiskey is made all through discussing the differences between Irish whiskey, Scotch whisky and American whiskey.


As always, we really enjoyed the chat (and the aprés-drinks) and our introduction to whiskey series is a firm part of our calendar each year.
